Today, young people travel a path that is far more complex, interconnected and ambiguous than that which previous generations of Pickering College alumni have traversed. Like no other time in history, it is our job as a school to prepare our students to rise to the challenge of the path ahead of them. It is a rapidly changing world that will increasingly be defined by globalism, new technologies, overwhelming information, environmental instability and extremism.
Our strategic initiatives for the next five years are outlined in our Strategic Plan, a forward thinking plan that requires building on our past strengths while looking to the future and the skills and knowledge our students will need. Our work will always be based on the core values of our Quaker founders and the traditions that have sustained successive generations of students. That is what links the past to the present and lays the foundation for the future.
In short, our challenge as a school is to prepare and set forth generations of leaders and learners who are ready to meet the future and who will go forward into the world with the knowledge and skills to ask tough questions, to solve societal issues and to stand up for that in which they most believe.
