What makes a school great? The people!
Moments of spontaneous enlightenment – ‘the teachable moment’ between teacher and students when, in an instant, the world becomes clear – those moments are the mark of great teachers, great students and a great school.
In addition to an outstanding faculty, the Pickering College community is rich with staff, volunteers, parents and alumni who give their time, talents and resources to ensure that our school thrives. It is these individuals who help us bring our vision to life and who add to the fabric and spirit of life at Pickering College.
Our faculty consists of the Headmaster and 51 qualified teachers, many with post-graduate degrees and diverse areas of specialization. Notable for their own academic accomplishments and talents, they are keen to share their enthusiasm for learning, challenges and success and also act as advisors to students. To stay current in their profession, faculty members continue their own education and professional development.
Our administrative and support staff fulfill an important role in daily school life and often participate in co-curricular activities. They ensure that faculty have the resources necessary to providing a stimulating, safe and comfortable learning environment. Many of them are university graduates and some are licensed professional teachers.
