The Bookstore

The Pickering College Bookstore provides a wide range of retail services either in direct support of the educational mission of the College or as a convenience to its students, faculty and staff.

Educational Materials

The Bookstore carries all course required textbooks, workbooks and novels, recommended reference materials, stationery, music and art supplies for both the Junior and Senior School. The Bookstore supports our IT environment by carrying a full range of computer accessories.

Stationery and More...

We offer complete selection of stationery and office products, Pickering College crested merchandise, school rings, greeting cards, giftware and prepaid calling cards.

Boarder Services

Our services extend to our Boarders by providing a central location to receive incoming mail and packages.


In Kindergarten, textbooks and supplies are included in Tuition.

For Grades 1-3, there is no additional charge for textbooks, the costs are included in tuition. Supplies and workbooks would be an additional cost.

For Grades 4-6, there is an additional charge for textbooks, but it is a rental fee only. Supplies and workbooks would be an additional cost.

For Grades 7-12, books and supplies are an additional cost and will range depending on the courses that a student is enrolled in. The Bookstore sells both used and new textbooks, as well as offering a full range of school supplies, including some technology items.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy

All returns, whether for exchange or refund, must agree with personal account purchases or sales receipt.

Defective merchandise may be returned for exchange or refund. New Textbooks for current year courses may be returned up to and including October 31st, under the following conditions:

  • Books must be in new, unmarked condition as determined by the Manager.
  • Shrink-wrapped books or course materials containing on-line access codes must be unopened.
  • Books must be suitable for resale or returnable to the publisher/supplier.
  • Textbooks returned due to a course cancellation or adjustment by the College will receive a full refund.

Returned Used Textbooks, purchased for the current academic year, will be held on consignment and given a full refund if re-sold by November 30th.

No refunds will be given for Special Order textbooks.

Book Buyback Programme

In June each year, The Pickering College Bookstore will buy back used textbooks.

Used Hardcover Textbooks will be purchased for 25% of the 2015-2016 List Price, approximately 50% of Used Book Prices

Paperback Textbooks may receive slightly less depending on condition.

Paperback Shakespeare Editions will receive $5.00.

All Paperback Novels will receive a maximum of $2.00.

All Book Buybacks will be credited to existing school accounts unless designated as a donation. Students who no longer have accounts with Pickering College should refer to Textbook Donations.

Conditions for Buyback

Textbooks must be used in the 2016 – 2017 Academic year

Textbooks must be in good resaleable condition; no missing or soiled pages, cover intact, moderate highlighting will be accepted.

The Bookstore is not currently overstocked in a particular text.

Note: Textbooks, of returning students or students with siblings at Pickering College, not bought back in June will be catalogued by the Bookstore and sold on a consignment basis beginning July 1st and throughout the 2016-2017 academic year. Credits usually appear on October Bookstore Statements.

The Pickering College Bookstore

Receive a Tax Receipt for 25% of the 2015-2016 Retail Price For Textbooks used in the 2016-2017 Academic Year.

Currently, used textbooks are sold to generate additional income for academic programs. Textbooks are maintained as resources for Associate Faculty and Academic Tutors. Textbooks no longer in use are donated to assist other schools and organizations.
