Food Services

Food dish made by Aramark

Our Aramark Food Services staff will be implementing enhanced disinfection and sanitizing protocols in the kitchen and servery which includes the use of PPE as needed.

Food remains an important part of our student experience, but in this new environment, the delivery of meals will be different. We will continue to provide high quality food offerings, choice and special dietary meals to our students.

For our Junior and Middle School students, hot lunch items will be individually served in dishwasher safe, reusable trays with lids and delivered to the classroom. Individually packaged drinks, fruit, desserts, sandwich/deli options and utensils will also be delivered to the classroom. Students will eat in their classrooms with their teacher. Hand sanitizing routines will be part of the lunch process.

For our Senior School, we will not be able to have a family-style lunch under the current health and safety guidelines, but feel strongly that Senior School lunches will take place in the Dining Hall to support community building. We will have reduced density in the Dining Hall, with staggered lunch times and hot lunch items individually plated and served by Aramark staff to the students from behind physical barriers. Cutlery will be individually packaged. Individual drinks will also be provided to the students, and packaged sandwich/deli/soup options are available. Hand sanitizing routines before and after lunch will be a part of the lunch process.

For our Boarding students, breakfast and dinner will take place in the Dining Hall to support community building. We will have reduced density in the Dining Hall, with staggered eating times and hot items will be individually plated and served by Aramark staff to the students from behind physical barriers. Cutlery will be individually packaged. Individual drinks will also be provided to the students and additional cold items will be individually packaged for students. Hand sanitizing routines before and after lunch will be a part of the lunch process. We will also continue to offer an evening snack that students can pick up and take back to their room.

In all instances, there will be one-way traffic flow in and out of the Dining Hall as well as the use of physical barriers and floor signs to support physical distancing as students wait to enter the servery. Enhanced cleaning protocols in between the staggered lunch times will include sanitizing tables, chairs and other high touch-point areas. These enhanced protocols in the kitchen and servery also include the use of PPE.

All food handling and preparation will be done by Aramark staff according to their COVID-19 safety protocols which must meet Government of Ontario standards, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Government of Canada Food Safety standards.

No food sharing is permitted.
