Health Centre

The Health Centre is located on the second floor at the east end of New House. The Health Centre has been designated as the school’s isolation area. It will be used to keep day students who present symptoms until their parents can pick them up.

N200 (across from the Health Centre) will be utilized as a Satellite Health Centre to care for students presenting symptoms or concerns other than COVID-19 like I.e. minor injuries, medication administration etc. If the nurse is needed, staff should be calling Reception or the Nurse Cell phone 1-905-955-3652 before sending students over to ensure they are going to the right location and the nurse is prepared for their arrival. Students sent over to the Health Centre with COVID-19 like symptoms will be given a mask and gloves by the sending teacher.

All staff are reminded that the Health Centre is considered a High-Risk Area and are asked to take care of minor concerns as per their first aid training. There are first aid kits located around the school, locations are listed in the Emergency Management Plan Quick Reference Flipchart. All faculty have been provided with a minor injury kit including bandaids etc. for use in the classroom.

The Health Centre will update the Illness Policy as required. Faculty, Staff and Students are not permitted to be at school if they have a temperature over 37.8C and/or symptoms of COVID-19. If Faculty, Staff and Students have been off with symptoms, they must not return to school/work until they are symptom free for 48 hours without the use of medication.

The Health Centre staff will coordinate with other departments to assist with the ordering of PPE.

The Health Centre will also maintain all medical records as per the standard record retention policy, this includes all health check information of students/co-arriving family members in the PC Self-Isolation Program.

The Health Centre hours are Monday to Thursday 0730-1930 and Friday 0730 – 1730. There is a nurse on call overnight and on weekends.
