Get to know PC

Pickering College is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, since 1842.

It offers a variety of enriched academic, athletic and leadership programs in a caring community, preparing students not only for university, but for life. At Pickering College, every student, Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, benefits from the fully integrated, enriched programming of the Global Leadership Program.

The Global Leadership Program teaches students to deeply consider the global context, and to develop the skills necessary to effectively participate in this context. Creative and innovative decision making drives all programming in academics and activities beyond the classroom. Students learn to take theory to action, and to assess the impact of their actions.

Graduates of the Pickering College Global Leadership Program are creative, innovative and courageous agents of ethical and positive change, true to Quaker values.

Pickering College's Boarding Program

Pickering College works to ensure our boarding students, especially those adjusting to a new culture and climate, find a “home away from home.” Starting in Grade 7, students can enjoy a safe, supportive, and healthy learning environment living directly on campus. From trips to group activities, to the “circle of care” that supports the academic and emotional well-being of students, various ongoing Pickering College initiatives help make living away from home a positive and enriching experience.

Each student is a member of a boarding "family.” This allows them to form lifelong friendships with other boarding students from across Canada and around the world. Boarding life also provides faculty-supervised study periods, family-style meals, housekeeping services, frequent outings, delivery of our boarding curriculum and a wide range of competitive and recreational activities.

In boarding, students are supported and challenged to follow their dreams - It is a place where they can grow and develop into compassionate leaders who have a strong sense of social justice, ethics, environmental consciousness, and a determination to make the world a better place.
