When should applications be made for financial assistance?

Apply early! Applications for financial assistance should be made at the same time as an application to Pickering College. Awards are made between October 1 and March 1 each year. Applications received after this date will be considered only if unallocated funds remain available.


How do I apply?

In addition to being accepted to Pickering College,

a) Students wishing to qualify for any scholarship at Pickering College must complete the scholarship application. Contact the Pickering College Admission Office at: admission@pickeringcollege.on.ca for further details.

b) Families wishing to apply for a bursary must demonstrate financial need by submitting a confidential financial aid application form directly to an independent financial services company, Apple Financial. You can apply online at: www.applefinancialservices.ca or contact the Admission Office for assistance.


How are award decisions made?

a) The Pickering College Scholarship and Bursary Committee reviews the scholarship application and admission information for each candidate.

b) For bursaries, Apple Financial carefully reviews information provided by each family and makes a confidential recommendation to Pickering College based on the family’s financial ability to contribute to a Pickering College education. The Pickering College Scholarship and Bursary Committee then reviews the information provided by Apple Financial for each candidate and the student’s application.


If a bursary is provided in the first year, is a bursary available in each of the subsequent years at Pickering College?

Yes, however, because each family’s financial circumstances can vary from year to year, we do ask that you reapply on an annual basis to help us determine the level of continued support.
