Sphere Program Grade 4/5 Teacher (2 Positions)
Pickering College is recruiting two (2) dynamic, qualified Junior School Teachers for an exciting new innovative program for students in Grades 4 and 5. The interdisciplinary Sphere Program empowers students to master cutting-edge technology while crafting real-world solutions. Sphere will operate from both the main campus and the school’s Blue & Silver Farm with a focus on the outdoors. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development Officer
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Development, the Development Officer will be responsible for providing high quality administrative support to the Director to assist with fostering meaningful relationships, maintain the development pipeline and populate RE NXT with constituent information provided by the Head of School, Assistant Head of School, Advancement, and the Director of Development.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain administration for the Director, including scheduling meetings with donors.
- Identify and research top major gift prospects using Raiser’s Edge and other sources and place them on the pipeline for cultivation purposes.
- Manage the pipeline process continually by populating it with information provided at pipeline meetings and from other sources.
- Populate the Raiser’s Edge database accurately with information gleaned from the Director’s, Head of School’s, and Assistant Head of School, Advancement’s meetings.
- Update Raiser’s Edge with information pertaining to parents and alumni gleaned from multiple sources, when possible.
- Produce contact reports as necessary.
- Ensure all donations to PC are properly and promptly acknowledged, aligned with the stewardship matrix, and coordinated with the Advancement Administrator.
- Assist with preparing all print materials, including letters, mailings, reports, and policy papers.
- Manage gift renewal, including correspondence.
- Assist with events, including bookings, financial management, producing guest lists, invitations, and RSVP management.
- Organize meetings of the Development Committee, take minutes, and initiate follow-up actions.
- Serve as back-up for the Advancement Administrator.

Qualifications:
- A university degree in communications, public relations or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution or related experience.
- 3- 5 years office experience, an independent school environment is an asset.

- Demonstrated confidence to communicate with donors and potential donors to connect with the school, both by telephone and in writing.

Director, Human Resources

Senior Network Administrator
Pickering College is an independent day and boarding school with grades Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, located in Newmarket, Ontario since 1909, founded in 1842. As a member of the Information Technology Department, reporting to the Executive Director IT, the Senior Network Administrator deploys, configures, administers, and maintains network infrastructure (LAN, Cloud, VPN, Wi-Fi, internet gateway and telephony) and business systems (Office 365, Azure, FinalSite Enrolment, PowerSchool, Edsby, RE NXT, FE NXT and Billing Management etc.) for all faculty and operational staffs to carry out their day-to-day business operations.
This role ensures that all systems are maintained appropriately for students to learn effectively, while staff and students receive adequate technology to excel in their roles and curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure, manage and maintain Firewall, Switches, Access Points, Security Cameras, Security Door Access, VPN, Servers, Printers and Copiers.
- Manage and maintain cloud solutions especially Azure, Office 365 (email, One Drive and Teams etc), SaaS and PaaS.
- Ensure that all hardware and software are configured to meet the industry standards and to optimum performance.
- Enhance scalability, reliability and resiliency of the IT infrastructure and services.
- Support the cybersecurity stance by implementing, managing and maintaining appropriate technical measures and controls.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting and scheduling regular security patch and upgrades.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) / Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Completion of advance Cisco Certification or similar certification is a must.
- Completion of network security certification is an asset.
- Possess very good communication (verbal and written) skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical users.
- At least five years related work experience in network administration and maintenance, network security, MS-Azure, Windows servers and cloud services.
- Hands on experience in configuring, managing and maintaining firewalls, switches, access points, DNS, Load Balancer, VLANs, VPN, Windows servers, security door access, security cameras and content filtering as per industry security standards.
- Can demonstrate very good technical knowledge of current anti-malware applications, network applications, all network layers, routing, switching, related protocols (TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, SSH and SNMP) and encryption.

Hilltop Summer Discovery Camp Instructors - Full-time, Contract (Mid-June to Mid-August)
Under the direction of the Manager, Auxiliary Programs and the HSDC Director, HSDC Instructors are responsible for planning and delivering engaging, meaningful, and dynamic activities for the Hilltop Summer Discovery Program (HSDC). There are three (3) vacancies for Day Camp Instructors during an 8-week contract period. There is one (1) vacancy for a Middle School Instructor during a 4-week period.
This position calls for a combination of creativity, leadership, and adaptability, as well as expertise in specific subject areas to inspire and guide campers through fun and educational experiences. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to connect with diverse learners are essential.
In addition to their primary instructional role, HSDC Instructors will take on broader responsibilities, including teaching specialty options, managing cabin groups, and supporting the overall camp environment.
This is a contract role during the summer, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (including after care), Monday to Friday throughout the duration of the contract.

Under the HSDC Director and Assistant Director, HSDC Counsellors are responsible for providing active supervision to campers, designing activities, and ensuring a safe and inclusive camp environment. Global Leadership Camp Counsellor - Full Time, Contract (5 Weeks)

Our counsellors live on campus and are responsible for overseeing the physical, emotional, and psychological care and development of Global Leadership residential campers ages 11-17. Boarding Don, Full Time, Contract (10 Months)
Under the direction of the Executive Director, Boarding and Health Services, Boarding Dons provide support to the boarding students and program. Boarding Dons function as a team to ensure that the school’s Mission Statement is upheld.
Boarding Dons provide a supportive, caring environment where our students can grow, develop and thrive both personally and academically. This position will nurture healthy relationships between our students through evening programming and weekend activities. The Boarding Don will provide an environment that promotes emotional growth, personal development and maturation and academic success.
The Boarding Don is an active member of the boarding team who lives on campus in the residence on a 10-month contract. There are summer opportunities in our ESL Summer Camp for those that are interested.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend breakfast on a rotational schedule to monitor students and check residences to ensure that students are up and ready for the day.
- Work on a rotational basis to cover the residences in the evenings, overnight and weekends (including long weekends).
- Provide on call coverage to the residences.
- Live in the residence.
- Meal coverage for breakfast and dinner.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Maintain a safe and supportive boarding program.
- Act as a “Family Head” for a smaller group of students within the residence.
- Act as a communication liaison for faculty and parents.
- Communicate on a regular basis with parents and custodians.
- Communicate regularly with the boarding team members.
- Support the academic development of students as needed.
- Ensure a safe boarding community.
- Liaise with the Health Centre staff to assist with any medical care of students as required.

- Support the students academically through evening study coverage in assigned areas: Math, Science, English, ESL, Writing Lab, Middle School Study etc.
