PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY

Participants in the Levelling up with Digital Credentials summer program have the responsibility to:

Bring your own device (specific instructions to follow after registration)

to treat others with compassion and with respect, accepting different points of view, different heritages, and different racial or national origins as valuable and adding to the richness of the School environment;

  • to accept the authority of the staff of the School and chaperones;
  • to refrain from verbal and/or physical abuse of others in our School;
  • to respect the property of the School and others within our School;
  • to contribute to a positive learning atmosphere in their classes and to respect the feelings and opinions of others in our school; and to exercise self-control in our School and on its grounds.

REFUND POLICY

Requests for cancellations or refunds must be made in writing and submitted to the Pickering College Summer Programs office via email at pcsummerprograms@pickeringcollege.on.ca .

Requests for refunds received prior to 8 weeks before to the start of the camp will receive a refund minus an administration fee of 10%. Refund requests received between 4 and 8 weeks prior to the start date of the program are subject to an administration fee of 50% of the total fee. Refund requests received less than 4 weeks prior to the start date of the program, will not qualify for a refund.

Pro-rated refunds are not available for days absent, meals not taken or other services not fully utilized.

Pickering College endeavors to provide 2 weeks’ notice for the cancellation of any camp. In such cases, all families will be offered a full refund.

CONSENT

I/We, the participant’s parent/legal guardian, consent to Pickering College's use of photographs/film footage of the Student for lawful promotional purposes for in-school or external media publications, websites, multimedia, social media and school-related contests, competitions or exhibitions, should such an opportunity arise. In keeping with privacy legislation, it is entirely reasonable for a parent or legal guardian to request that photographs/film footage not be taken or used without consent. I/we agree it is my/our responsibility to contact the Pickering College Summer programs office via pcsummerprograms@pickeringcollege.on.ca if I/we do not consent to the use of my/our child's likeness.

I/We agree that the School can collect, use and disclose to other departments at the School, personal information about us/me and my/our family for use in the operation and support of the School. I/We may at any time inquire how my/our information is being collected, secured and used.

I/We, the participant’s parent/legal guardian acknowledge that the summer program includes bringing your own technology device that can be used in the camp program, indoor/outdoor learning, including being transported by school vehicle for local learning/service opportunities. I/We certify that the participant is physically capable of participating in the program. I/We agree to adhere to Pickering College’s rules, policies and procedures, including the acceptable use of technology (policy to be forwarded after registration). In case of emergency, I/We give permission to Pickering College the authority to act on my behalf and to transport the participant to a nearby physician or hospital, and to authorize medical treatment, including ordering the administration of medication, injections, anesthesia, surgery, or any other medical procedures deemed necessary in the circumstances by the treating physician in the event the participant becomes ill or is injured while attending or participating in Camp activities.I agree to reimburse the Camp for any additional expenses that may result from the provision of the above medical services and/or transportation for medical care.I also confirm that the participant is covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan or equivalent medical insurance.I hereby release and discharge the Camp from any and all claims of any nature whatsoever, which may arise out the decision to provide emergency medical care, dental care or hospitalization to the player.I/We acknowledge that if the participant doesn’t adhere to Pickering College’s policies, the school has the right to withdraw the participant from the program.

I/We, the participant’s parent/legal guardian release Pickering College, its officials, directors, officers, executives, employees, agents, independent contractors, and representatives (the “Releasees”) from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, liability, or causes of action, howsoever caused, which arise out of or is in any way connected to my child’s participation in this summer program, except to the extent that such loss, injury or damages arises from the negligence of the Releasees; given in the application is true and accurate.
