Sustainable Stitches: Fast Fashion Show

Wednesday, February 8
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Grade 12 students Shyam & Brooklyn will be hosting their very own fashion show, Sustainable Stitches. Shyam and Brooklyn undertook this project because they believe that change starts with all of us and fast fashion is an issue that needs to be addressed. After writing research papers on the environmental and societal impact of fast fashion through the GLP program in Grade 11, they decided to work together to highlight sustainable small designers from our local community. The fashion show will take place on Wednesday, February 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and tickets will be sold online for $10.00 each. Money raised will be put towards a sewing machine for the school maker space. The event will feature a runway with multiple looks, refreshments, as well as a speaker's panel led by the showcased designers.
