Reggio Inquiry: Studying Self Portraits

Grade 2 Students Study Self Portraits

This week the Grade 2 class started a Reggio Inquiry about self portraits
They read, Let’s Make Faces and found faces in every day objects. Students were then invited to make self-portraits using either loose parts, art supplies or the app, “Faces i Make”. Whichever they chose, they were engaged and having fun making faces. There was a lot of trial and error at work.
Students are now starting to notice their physical features. They have made connections between how they look and what their parents look like. They have also noticed that their self-portraits are changing because they are losing teeth!
