Boarding Boat Cruise

All Boarding students set sail earlier this month on the annual Boarding Boat Cruise around the Toronto Harbour. This mandatory excursion provides an opportunity for all boarders, new and returning, to get to know one another and start the school year in a spirit of celebration.

In the Spring 2024 edition of The Pillars Magazine, Laura Mason, Executive Director, Boarding and Health Services, said excursions and activities like the boat cruise are especially important at the beginning of the school year. 

"Everybody is in a vulnerable place where everything is new to them. They're away from home, sometimes for the first ime without parents, on their own, without friends," she said. 

The boat cruise allows them to step out of their comfort zone, encourages them to connect with new people, and begin to form relationships that often last a lifetime.
