Extended Learning Credits

Prices vary.  You can see the courses on offer above, and click on your chosen course.  At the bottom of the course description is a button to click to register.    

Courses are offered in terms.  September – January is Term 1, January – June is Term 2 and June – August is Term 3 (summer school).  You will have a final assessment and will need to complete this by the end date of the course. In order to receive a midterm grade, you will need to complete the midterm assignment(s) 10 days before the midterm grades are released.  Final grades will be available within 10 days of course completion.

We will send a report to your home school to have your credit added to your transcript.  Your school is required to add all ministry approved credits to your transcript.  Once you have provided your OUAC/OCAS numbers to us we are able to send your midterm and final grades to OUAC/OCAS.  Please email auxiliaryprograms@pickeringcollege.on.ca for more information about university and college applications.

You need a working laptop with high speed internet access.  You will need a working webcam and microphone. You will need to be able to run Microsoft products like Outlook and Teams on your computer. Depending on the course, you may be asked to edit photos or video, and should have appropriate software or apps for this. All resources will be provided to you electronically – there are no print texts.

You can drop a course up to 5 days after midterm grades are released.  If you want to drop a course, please contact auxiliaryprograms@pickeringcollege.on.ca for a drop form.  Pickering College does not offer refunds for online courses.

Each course will use a wide variety of assessment strategies to ensure that you have many opportunities to show your learning.  We follow the Ontario Ministry of Education’s document Growing Success for all assessment policies.  All final exams will use an online proctoring system.

As with any of our courses at PC, we will review your IEP and implement as many listed accommodations as possible.  It is suggested that you supply your IEP with your registration documents, and then make an appointment with your teacher to discuss your preferred learning style and accommodations.

There are many ways you can access your teacher.  You will see your teacher at live lessons and tutorials.  If you cannot attend a live lesson, you can watch the recording.  You can also message your teacher if you have a quick question, or if you want to meet on Teams for a longer discussion.
