A specialized summer program for students entering Grades 6, 7, and 8 in September 2026.

The Gow Method of Reconstructive Language and Writing

Offered by Pickering College in partnership with The Gow School, this two-week program (August 1–15) is designed for Middle School students (entering Grades 6, 7 and 8) who would benefit from additional support with reading and language skills. This program introduces the Gow Method of Reconstructive Language with instruction in phonics and the fundamentals of the English language.

Students will read and analyze a shared text, complete a research project, and participate in hands-on, multisensory activities that build both skills and confidence. The program also includes sentence pattern practice, handwriting, and activities focused on building writing skills, with dedicated time for enrichment and creative projects that foster growth.
