Holiday Home Tour
Originally organized by a few dedicated Pickering College parents to raise funds to enhance school programs and to support local charities, this self-directed tour has become a signature event at Pickering College and throughout the greater Toronto area. Kicking off the holiday season for over a thousand guests each year, the tour features homes decorated in holiday splendour each to a unique theme, chosen in collaboration by a team of the Region’s finest designers, decorators and florists. During the tour, designers are on hand in each home to answer questions about their designs, and to provide exciting design tips to inspire.
Over 150 businesses support the tour through sponsorship, advertising or donation. The tour not only provides excellent exposure to these businesses but also provides much needed funding to local charities. As a non-profit organization, we understand our responsibility to give back and to serve the community. Over the years, the Holiday Home Tour has supported the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Maternal Child Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Jennifer Ashleigh Children's Charity, Literacy Council York Simcoe, Women's Centre of York Region, the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at Southlake Regional Health Centre, and Habitat for Humanity and Doane House Hospice. This year we are pleased to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Margaret Bahen Hospice.
To add to the festive Holiday Home Tour weekend, Pickering College hosts the popular Seasonal Boutique and Café held at Pickering College on the Saturday of the tour weekend. The Boutique is open to the public and is free of charge. Join us for a delicious lunch and to find that special gift from one of over 40 vendors on site to assist with holiday shopping.
