Summer Day Camps (K to Grade 3)

Here is a sample schedule for what a typical day may look like for a camper!

8:15 a.m. - Staggered arrival 

8:45 a.m. - Inquiry activities connected to weekly theme

10:00 a.m. - Break (snack, water, washroom, sunscreen, etc.,)

10:15 a.m. – Rotation 1 (crafts, active games or experiments connected to the weekly theme)

11:00 a.m. – Rotation 2 (crafts, active games or experiments connected to the weekly theme)

11:45 a.m. – Lunch and recess

12:45 p.m. – Rotation 3 (crafts, active games or experiments connected to the weekly theme)

1:45 p.m. – Break (snack, water, washroom, sunscreen, etc.,)

2:00 p.m. – Group activity time (water play, co-operative games, etc.,)

3:00 p.m. – Staggered pick-up

3:30 p.m. – 4:30 – Aftercare program

Once payment in received, your spot is reserved therefore limiting space to other campers. We do not issue refunds for sessions. Pickering College reserves the right to cancel any camps due to low enrolment. In this case, a full refund will be provided. Refunds will not be provided for inclement weather or for days of camp not attended.

Our website is constantly being updated to provide you with information regarding camps that are full. To be placed on a waitlist, please email summercamps@pickeringcollege.on.ca. We will contact you if a spot becomes available for your camper.

A hot lunch is provided each day. Please send a nutritious nut-free snack for both the mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks. A menu will be provided for the week. Our kitchen will be able to accommodate allergies with advanced notice given. If there is something on the menu that your child will not eat, it is always a good idea to send a couple of extra snacks.  

Registrations must be received online by Thursday for the next week's camp. For registrations after the Thursday deadline, please contact the camp office at summercamps@pickeringcollege.on.ca and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

The camp office is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We pro-rate weeks that fall on a holiday four-day camp week (Canada Day and Civic Holiday). All other weeks are based on a five-day camp week, and we do not pro-rate the camps. Refunds will not be provided for inclement weather or for days of camp not attended.

We will do our best to accommodate friends/family requests to be placed in the same group as our cohorts are based on grade. You can call or email the camp office with a request after your online application has been submitted.

If your child is not going to attend for a day, we appreciate being notified as early as possible by email. Please email summercamps@pickeringcollege.on.ca. Refunds or credits are not provided for any missed days.

Yes! We have a lost and found box located at the arena. At the end of every day, unclaimed items found throughout our campus are put in the lost and found bin. On the last day of camp, we will have the lost and found bin at drop off and pick up. We keep lost items for a three-week period and then donate any unclaimed items to charity.

We have allocated indoor spaces for our camp to use, and utilize the shady outdoor areas for more quiet activities. We also have water refill stations set up at each camp tent that allows campers to refill their own re-useable water bottles throughout the day. Campers are also encouraged to drink water every 20 minutes to stay hydrated.
