Program Volunteers
Grade Representative Program
Grade Representatives are a great resource to families, especially in the opening weeks of school. Grade Representatives are returning parents who have a solid understanding of school routines and expectations. They provide updates on PCA events and activities, connect parents with other parents in their grade, and work towards planning a number of social activities including a specific grade lunch.
This volunteer role requires email communication and can be done from home.
For more information on how to become a Grade Representative, contact Grade Representative Chair, Carla Liberta.
Family Mentor Program
Family Mentors play an important role in transitioning new families into the PC community. After our Admissions Department, Family Mentors are the first contacts extending a PC welcome to our new families. Family Mentors are required to communicate with their mentor family over the summer months to answer questions, and to provide guidance where needed related to move-in and first weeks of school. Family Mentors are asked to attend the Welcome BBQ with their mentor family and to introduce them to other members of the community.
This volunteer role requires email communication and can be done from home.
For more information on how you can become a Family Mentor, contact PCA Chair, Krystie Robinson-Vincent.
International Parent Representative Program
International Parent Representatives provide support to our international families — both day and boarding. Working with the Advancement team as well as the PCA, International Parent Representatives ensure that our families are well connected to the community and are regularly updated on upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
This volunteer role requires email communication and can be done from home.

International Family Representative Program
Moving to a new country is challenging, and understanding all that Pickering College has to offer can be overwhelming especially if English may not be your first language. Our International Family Representatives can help you stay connected to school life through school and PCA events, news, programs, as well as upcoming volunteer opportunities. They can also help you become familiar with Newmarket and the local community.
For more information on how to become an International Family Representative, contact PCA Chair, Krystie Robinson-Vincent.
Committee Volunteers
Staff Appreciation Committee
Members of the Staff Appreciation Committee work towards planning PCA events that show appreciation to staff and faculty. Working with "day of" volunteers, events planned by the Staff Appreciation Committee could include items such as, taking lunch coverage, door duty, or assisting with recess duty. This is a feel-good committee with a flexible time commitment.
For more information, contact PCA Chair, Krystie Robinson-Vincent.

Celebrating friendship, the Spring Luncheon has been a tradition at Pickering College for over two decades welcoming current parents, past parents, alumni, and friends of the community. This committee meets regularly from January to May, with the option to join via Zoom.
