Ways to Give
Gifts online
Our easy-to-use online form makes giving fast and convenient. Choose where you would like to direct your gift using the drop-down menu, or select "other" to direct your gift to an area that is important to you and your family.
Gifts by Credit Card, Cheque, or Cash:
You can choose to make a one-time or monthly donation. One-time gifts are payable by cheque, credit card, or wire transfer. Monthly donations make giving easy - they are automated and payable by direct debit or credit card.
Gifts of Securities and Mutual Fund Shares:
A gift of securities can include stocks, mutual funds, segregated funds, flow through shares and bonds. It is the most efficient way to donate. Since capital gains tax does not apply, it is a wonderful way to benefit both you and the school. Gifts of publicly-traded securities are simple to make; consult your financial advisor to decide which investments make the most financial and philanthropic impact. Then, ask your broker to transfer your securities to Pickering College by completing the appropriate Transfer of Securities Form. Tax Advantages of Making a Gift of Securities
Planned Giving:
A gift in your will may be the biggest gift of your life. By joining Pickering College's community of Lamplighters, you will have the comfort of knowing that the legacy of your generosity will live on for future generations. The biggest advantage of giving through your estate is that it does not cost anything during your lifetime.
Matching Gifts:
Matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations their employees make to charities. Please contact your Human Resources department to inquire about whether a matching gift is possible.
Commemorative/Tribute Gifts:
Through your donation, you may choose to pay tribute to someone special. This gift can be made in honour of a teacher, advisor, coach, or friend who has had a positive influence and made a difference in your PC experience.
International Gifts:
We are happy to send a Canadian charitable tax receipt to donors residing outside of Canada. Through FRISBE (Friends of Independent Schools and Better Education) we are able to offer US tax receipts.
