Pickering College - Learning For Life. Creating The Future.

Volunteer Opportunities

The PCA is committed to supporting the school and providing positive opportunities for all parents to become involved. We work to engage parents in spirit and community-building initiatives.

Each year, we encourage new and existing volunteers to join us in our various projects, committees and social opportunities. See the list of opportunities listed below, or contact Donna Fordyce, PCA Chair, at pcachair@pickeringcollege.on.ca to inquire how you can become involved.

PCA Volunteer Roles

Golf Tournament Committee: Don't miss out on the opportunity to work with parents, alumni and community members to plan this fun-filled day! For more information, and event sponsorship opportunities, please contact Shelley Frank, Manager, Special Events.

Holiday Home Tour Committee: Planning for the 14th annual Pickering College Holiday Home Tour begins in March, 2018. This self-directed tour features exquisitely decorated homes for the holidays. There are opportunities to support this event by contacting Shelley Frank, Manager, Special Events.

Gala 2018 Committee: One of PC's Signature Events, for more information and ways to get involved please speak to our Gala Co-Chairs Debbie Floyd and Mirella Morra or contact Shelley Frank, Manager, Special Events.

Grade Rep Program: Help organize your Grade parent lunch or dinner, and communicate PCA and school events and news items to your child's class throughout the year. This role is done electronically, perfect for working parents, day or boarding.

Family Mentor Program: Be an ambassador for Pickering College and welcome new families. This program assists new families as they settle into PC life and has a minimal time commitment with a huge impact for our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for day and boarding parents alike.

International Family Rep Program: Bilingual volunteers assist (new) boarding families, or new-to-Canada families, with translation, connecting with PC and more. The time commitment is minimal, and on an as-needed basis. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for our boarding parents.

Staff Appreciation Committee: Working throughout the year to find ways to thank our hard working staff and faculty, this feel-good committee has a minimal time commitment.

Spring Luncheon Committee: This committee organizes a social ladies luncheon in the spring. This has a minimal time commitment, and if you like planning parties and want to meet other parents, this is for you!
