Students celebrating United Nations Day

Throughout the school year, many of our Senior School students participated in several mathematics contests including the Pascal, Cayley, and Fermat (PCF) Contests, the Fryer, Galois, and Hypatia (FGP) Contests, as well as the Euclid Contest.

Organized by The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing from the University of Waterloo, these challenging contests are designed to help and inspire learners to develop creative problem-solving and communication skills, while also building perseverance and confidence.

“I am so proud of all our students for taking on the challenge of participating in math contests – it's a great way to practice problem-solving and critical thinking skills,” says Erin Matthews, Senior School faculty member and Math Department Head.

"Our results this year have been amazing with many students earning places on the provincial honour roll, results in the top three per cent of contestants, and our Hypatia team finishing 19th in Canada."

Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and dedication.
