The Middle and Senior School Drama Club presented the acclaimed musical, School of Rock (School Production) onstage in The Joseph McCulley Meeting Room on Wednesday, February 28, Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2. The cast starred boarding students Alia Kulyabko, Anastasiia Teres, Cindy Guo, Holly Liu, Jason Shao and Mehmet Uysal.

The crew included boarding students Eric Xu and Ingrid Tai. The creative team included boarding students Vanessa Zykova and Kenya Kimata as well as Associate Faculty, Nicole Croppo as one of the Assistant Stage Managers.

Mehmet Uysal - Dewey Finn Mehmet (Mali) Uysal rocked and rolled his way across the stage as the highlight of the performance. As the lead character, a failed, wanna-be rock star, who decides to earn a few bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school, Mali Uysal proved he was made for the role of the guitar-shredding, rock-loving Dewey Finn.

Jason Shao - Mr. Mooneyham (Parent), Mr. Sanders (Teacher), Stanley, Biker
Jason Shao worked hard to play four different roles during the performance. His greatest role was as Zack Mooneyham's father, a student who felt his father would never let him be himself. Jason portrayed the father figure well.

On Pink Shirt Day, the Grade 10/11/12 drama class presented a reading by Shane Koyczan. This reading included boarding students Isabel Cevallos Martinez, Kae Ishikawa, Rhianna Howarth, Sofiia Dudurych, Michelle Joe-Ezigbo and Ingrid Tai. Here is an excerpt from "To This Day":

But our lives will only ever always

That has less to do with pain
And more to do with beauty.
